What is Laser Hair Removal and Why It’s Used

What is Laser Hair Removal?

Laser hair removal is a medical procedure that uses an intense, pulsating beam of laser light to remove unwanted hair. The laser-hair-removal-folliclelaser works by passing a light beam through the skin. The laser targets dark pigment, called melanin, in hair. Once the light beam hits the originating place where hair grows, known as as the hair follicle, the intense heat of the laser destroys the follicle instantly and erases the source of hair growth.

Contrary to popular belief laser hair removal is not completely permanent, but for most cases, the laser hair removal treatment greatly slows the regrowth of hair and it may take several treatments to provide long term hair free periods. Although laser hair removal treatment cannot completely guarantee permanent hair removal, and results can vary from one person to the other, it definitely extends the hair-free period, sometimes by as much as many years and with multiple treatments very long term results are possible.

Uses for Laser Hair Removal

Many people use laser hair removal treatment and it has gained a lot of popularity over the years. The laser treatment can be used to remove any unwanted hair on the body, including, legs, armpits, upper lip, chin, back, chest and bikini line and pretty much any part of the body where unwanted hair exists.
